What We’re Doing

The Million Meals Campaign involves a commitment to provide pro-bono consulting services to selected partner organizations working on food insecurity in Canada. Our focus is on not-for-profit organizations and Indigenous organizations and communities.

We’re not only looking to provide one million meals, but we’re also looking to work on solving problems associated with the root of the causes of food insecurity and seeking to contribute to a transformation of the system for generations.

Timeline

The Million Meals Campaign is planned to be a prompt response to real, immediate, and long term problems being tackled by groups working on food security issues in Canada.

Information Webinars

Our team offered two identical webinars in January where we discussed the Campaign, the pro bono service offering, answered questions from participants, and collected feedback.

Applications

Dillon received 27 applications for the Million Meals Campaign pro bono services work! This was an unexpected and great response rate to a Campaign that is new to Dillon. We want to thank everyone who took the time to apply. The applications were inspirational for our team to review and reflected a wide range of types of requests.

We have narrowed the project list down to what will be feasible for our team to deliver and are in the process of creating project plans, budgets, and communicating with selected organizations.

Final public communications around who have been selected to receive pro bono project support will be published on this webpage by Mid May. In the meantime, if you have any questions please feel free to contact us at sustainability@dillon.ca

Supporters

We’d like to offer a big thank you to all the organizations that have chosen to help improve the food security of Canadians through working with us on this campaign.

This page shows the logos of the organizations that have shown support and contributed to the campaign.

FAQ

The application asks us to describe the problem we are facing. Can you provide more clarity around this request?

We at Dillon are problem solvers. We want to hear about the issues you are facing even if you have not devised a solution for them yet. We are eager and willing to work with you on these types of projects by creating a project plan and delivering work to address your problem.

With that said, we are also very open to hearing about problems that you already have mapped out direction to a solution or a project plan for. If you have a problem and a solution mapped out, please don’t hesitate to include the details of both. We will review and weight both types of applications equally.

Where can we submit questions and is there a deadline for submitting questions?

Any questions about the Campaign or the pro bono service application can be submitted to sustainability@dillon.ca. Questions will be accepted until March 5th and 11:59 pm EST.

Can an organization that does not have not-for-profit status apply for Dillon’s pro bono services?

Applications from organizations that do not have not-for-profit status will be considered and evaluated as long as the project being considered or problem being solved does not provide a financial benefit to a for-profit organization and the benefits are directed at a community in need.
