Pandemic & Continuity of Operations Planning – Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, ON

During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte Community Health Unit hired Dillon to update the community Pandemic Plan, a safe return to office plan, and a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP). Undertaking this involved background research and review of other templates and plans and staff interviews to prepare the 3 documents, including the checklists to be used by staff.

The plans incorporated federal (ISC) guidance, existing community public health protocols, local considerations and best practices and supported the communities ability to respond and adapt to the pandemic’s effects, as with any emergency, was based on considerations of the social, economic and environmental needs and circumstances for the community. This project included safe work solutions for staff and new internal policies and practices for a safe return to office plan incorporated into the broader pandemic plan and into a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
