Built in 1969, this three-span bridge carrying Highway 540 over Stimson Creek was nearing the end of its service life and was identified by Alberta Transportation for replacement.
Dillon completed the preliminary engineering and detailed design, preparation of tender package, contract administration and construction supervision for the replacement of the bridge.
Dillon provided full engineering services for the replacement of the 1960s vintage three-span precast concrete bridge supported on timber sub-structure. During preliminary engineering, Dillon recommended raising the bridge and approach road profile to increase the hydraulic capacity at the structure.
