Sustainability Plan – Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Reserve, ON

Dillon completed a Sustainability Study that will support COTTFN in their efforts to be proactive and informed about their existing ecological footprint and develop a strategy to reduce that footprint and evaluate sustainability options. Goal of the study is to develop a high-level desktop overview of current capacity of band and commercial buildings related to possible sustainability improvements (i.e., water, wastewater, power, solid waste).

Also to develop a high-level desktop overview of current capacity and demand for water and wastewater, and create a “Roadmap and Strategy” for Council to consider when making decisions about possible development proposed on reserve. The study is based on an analysis of existing conditions from a desktop review of available information on infrastructure and community owned assets. The review guided best management practices in land use planning, building on the available community economic development work, as well as the 2012 Comprehensive Community Plan.
