Bio

Taran has over 23 years of experience in transportation and municipal engineering. He has been involved with and led a team on specialty projects, such as bus rapid transit design and construction as well as in a P3 and owner’s engineer role at the procurement stage including RFQ and RFP document preparation, bid evaluation, and as owner’s engineer during the design and construction phase. Taran has worked on many projects including new roadways, renewals, roundabout design and construction, utility relocation, site servicing of subdivisions, land drainage and sewer and watermain works.

Floodway Expansion - Red River, MB

Following the 1997 “Flood of the Century,” the Province of Manitoba studied a variety of options to improve Winnipeg’s flood protection facilities. The expansion of the Red River Floodway was the preferred option to best provide protection from the one in 700 year flood in the Winnipeg area. Replacement of existing railway and highway bridges was required to span the widened floodway channel and increase the clearance underneath each bridge.
