Dillon Presents at 2018 RPIC National Workshop

A team of Dillon engineers will present at the 2018 Real Property Institute of Canada (RPIC) Marine Infrastructure National Workshop on January 9-10 in Ottawa, Ontario. This year’s workshop focuses on Port Planning and Operation; Port and Harbour Engineering; Environmental Science; and Technology and Innovation.

Darcy Harris’s presentation on “Port of Saint John West Side Terminals Modernization Project,” details the purpose, plan and schedule for the ongoing project. The West Side Terminals will expand in a phased approach over seven years to accommodate larger container ships and additional container traffic while maintaining current operations at the Port.

William Hayhoe’s presentation “Design of Innovative Tied-down Cellular Sheet Piled Wharf,” describes the design development of a site with unique conditions in Fortune, Newfoundland.

David Creber’s presentation “Development of an Area Risk Assessment (ARA) Methodology of Ship-Source Oil Spills in Canadian Waters,” focuses on providing an overview of the ARA methodology including how it assesses the risk of ship-source oil spills in Canadian waters; the approach taken to develop the methodology; and the issues and challenges our team faced while developing the methodology.
