Dillon contributed to the translation of the Wawahte documentary film project. The documentary, based on the book by Robert P. Wells, shows the story of some 150,000 indigenous children taken from their families and communities to attend residential schools, often quite far away from their homes. The film illustrates the experiences of these school survivors with the goal that all Canadians may find mutual healing and understanding. A preview of the film is available here.
Dillon will attend the documentary premiere on February 27 in Kingston, ON. The premiere includes presentations from honourary guests Chief Dr. Robert Joseph, O.B.C. of the Gwawaenuk First Nation, Canada’s Reconciliation Ambassador from BC, and Chief Isadore Day of the Serpent River First Nation, Ontario Regional Chief from Wiindawtegowinini.
