Sarah Devereaux Receives F.H. Sexton Gold Medal Award

Congratulations to Sarah Devereaux, a Partner from our Halifax office, for being the 2020 recipient of the F.H. Sexton Gold Medal Award!

Each year, a number of Awards are presented to members of Engineers Nova Scotia, to acknowledge their accomplishments in the practice of engineering or service to the profession. The F.H. Sexton Gold Medal is awarded for singular service to an engineer who has been recognized for exceptional achievements in their chosen field of engineering practice. This includes having an outstanding career in engineering, contributing to economic and social benefits of society.

Sarah is an active leader in the Women in Dillon committee and in several professional and educational organizations. Early in her career, she recognized the need to ensure everyone knows there is a place for them in engineering. To this end, Sarah spearheaded initiatives for all engineers, especially women. She was instrumental in creating the Dillon/Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation Scholarship for Women in Engineering. Thank you Sarah for dedicating yourself to Dillon and the community wholeheartedly. You've demonstrated exemplary contributions in the various roles you play as a partner, board member, manager, leader and mentor. Thanks for being our inspiration!
