Dillon prepared and completed detailed design and construction administration for the intersection improvements at Sunningdale Road and Wonderland Road North in London. The project is the first multi-lane roundabout in London and widens the roadways to two lanes in each direction to accommodate continued growth in the area.
The multi-lane roundabout provides increased accessibility for multiple modes of transportation including pedestrians, cyclists and motorists. Cyclists have options to either occupy the driving lane and navigate the roundabout as a vehicle, or use a concrete ramp to exit the roadway to a multi-use path.
The design includes:
- extension of storm and sanitary services
- LED illumination
- landscaping
- provisions for planned future expansion.
