Bio

Shawn has over 27 years of experience in transportation and traffic engineering and planning. He has worked extensively for clients in central, western and eastern Canada and in the Caribbean and Middle East. Shawn has managed a broad spectrum of technical assignments, ranging from long-range transportation policy, to corridor and network planning projects, traffic and parking planning assignments and detailed traffic operations assessment studies.

Little River Floodplain Mapping and Sandwich South Secondary Plan - Windsor, ON

Dillon was retained by the City of Windsor to provide updated Little River Floodplain Mapping from the 1985 limits and develop a stormwater management concept for the Sandwich South secondary plan area in conjunction with newly established floodplain limits. Both studies require a thorough examination of the hydrology and hydraulics of the Little River and its respective watershed.Read More

Gardiner Expressway Waterfront Renewal - Toronto, ON

The Gardiner Expressway is a municipal expressway serving traffic in downtown Toronto running close to Lake Ontario’s shoreline.  Sections of the highway date back to the 1950s. Starting in the 2000s, urban renewal around the Expressway intensified and extensive repairs to the decades-old highway infrastructure became necessary. As a result, Waterfront Toronto and the City of Toronto jointly undertook a major Individual Environmental Assessment (EA) and Urban Design Study to determine the future of the eastern portion of the Expressway and Lake Shore Boulevard (from approximately Lower Jarvis Street to Leslie Street). Dillon was the lead consultant on this project.

Terry Fox Drive - Ottawa, ON

Terry Fox Drive is a major arterial road in Ottawa, named for the late Canadian humanitarian, activist and athlete Terry Fox. Located in the suburb of Kanata in the city's west end, the road was initially a minor road that has become a major route for residents travelling to and from the north end of Kanata. Expansion was controversial as it cut through a provincially significant wetland affecting 20 species at risk in this area such as the Butternut tree, American ginseng and the Blanding's turtle.
