Bio

Sean was appointed as Dillon’s CEO in March 2020. This followed two years of leading Dillon through a change in management, during which he assumed the Interim President role at the request of the Board of Directors, in April 2018 and was appointed President in January 2019. Sean has over 29 years of consulting and industry experience with a technical focus on environmental management, risk management and contaminated sites portfolio management. He led geographic expansion in Atlantic Canada through the establishment and growth of both the Saint John and St. John's offices. He has a B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, and a B.Sc. in Chemistry/Mathematics from Mount Allison University.

Area Risk Assessment for Ship-source Oil Spills in Canada

Transport Canada required a method to assess the risk of ship-source oil spills in Canadian waters. While oil spills are unlikely, Transport Canada needed a methodology to assess the risk posed by future projects and potential growth in marine traffic. Dillon led the development of an Area Risk Assessment (ARA) Methodology that determined the probable locations and volumes of ship-source oil spills, where the spills would travel and what would likely be impacted by the oil.

Cruise Ship Terminal - Port Saint John, NB

Port Saint John is Eastern Canada’s largest port with a diverse cargo base, handling an average of 28 million metric tons of cargo annually and globally connected to over 350 ports. Due to growth in the cruise ship industry and the need to respond to the Port’s clients’ changing needs, a $16.5M multidisciplinary project was approved that involved a review of the Port’s infrastructure complete with analysis of the Port’s berthing capacity for today’s cruise ships and the cruise ships of the future.
