Bio
Morgan has over nine years of experience as a community and environmental planner, specializing in public consultation, stakeholder engagement and impact assessment. He has worked in diverse project settings in Canada and around the globe, focusing on stakeholder engagement and community-driven decision-making processes. As a key member of public engagement teams on a number of complex and multi-faceted master planning processes, environmental assessments, and other community-based planning projects, Morgan specializes in bringing innovative participatory tools and methods along with digital civic engagement technologies to complex community dialogues. This includes the exploration of cutting-edge engagement techniques to communicate changes to the built environment using 3-D visualization and virtual reality.
Morgan holds a Master’s degree in Planning and Development from the University of Guelph, along with an honours degree in Political Science from Simon Fraser University and a certificate in International Development Studies from the University of Sussex in the UK. Morgan is a Candidate Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and has received training in group facilitation methods, large-scale public involvement techniques, and social media for engagement. He has serced as a Deputy Board Member for International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Canada and has completed IAP2’s Foundations in Effective Public Participation course.
