The City of Chilliwack adopted the Proper and Fairfield Island Neighbourhoods Plan that was prepared by Dillon. The Plan sets the stage for infill development in four older neighbourhoods and was established to provide a clear vision for the future growth and to ensure development occurs in accordance with the City’s 2040 Official Community Plan.
Context with the surrounding neighbourhood and the design guidelines were part of the Plan. Extensive community engagement including workshops, interactive open houses, online surveys and community meetings to capture the ideas and concerns of the residents and landowners, were all used to allow the populous the opportunity to have their voice heard.
