The City of Winnipeg's Rapid Transit network continues to grow, with construction of the second stage of the Southwest Transitway currently underway. The first milestone of Stage 2 was the completion of Stadium Station, a major transit station at the north end of Investors Group Field. It was intended to be ready for the upcoming 2017 Canada Summer Games, Winnipeg Blue Bomber games and concerts.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on July 4, 2017 to recognize the completion of this interim milestone with attendance by the Mayor, local Member of Parliament and City Councillor, and Director of Transit.
Dillon has been instrumental in the planning and development of Winnipeg’s Rapid Transit Initiative including system planning, functional planning and final design and construction management of Stage 1. Dillon is now Owner’s Advocate for the P3 delivery of Stage 2 of the transitway.
