Rory Baksh presented at the Caribbean Urban Forum on May 17th, 2017 in Belize City, Belize. The theme of the conference was Green Energy, Green Economy and Green Space bringing together land use practitioners, municipal managers, policy makers, academics and allied professionals to address urban issues in the region.
Rory presented the paper co-authored with Annie Edwards (Dominica Physical Planning Division) and Michel Frojmovic (Acacia Consulting & Research) on the National Land Use Policy and National Physical Development Plan for the Commonwealth of Dominica. The presentation examined how the “green” economy of Dominica creates climate change resiliency challenges, and the resulting success in integrating the green economy with resiliency and sustainability. Dillon provided land use planning and institutional strengthening services for this project.
