Dennis Kar and Sean Rathwell were published in the Ontario Planning Journal, May/June 2016 edition. The issue focused on the New Mobility Paradigm, the disruptive impact of mobile phones and the sharing economy and how automated vehicles will transform the nature of our cities. Dennis contributed an editorial on the impact of the “New Mobility Paradigm” on planning policy and infrastructure investment while Sean’s article “Are Cities Ready for Automated Vehicles" provides insight into several major cities and their state of readiness for this rapidly emerging technology.
Dennis is an associate and leads Dillon's transit planning and design technical service line. He has over 15 years of experience in transit systems and community transportation. He has participated in a number of conventional and specialized transit master plans, business plans, community transportation studies and coordination strategies.
Sean is an associate and integrated mobility specialist with more than 30 years experience in transit service and operations planning, rapid transit, and bringing together transit, travel demand management and active transportation to develop integrated transportation solutions for communities.
