The first draft of the National Physical Development Plan (NPDP) for the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, was presented to stakeholders on April 26. Dillon provided land use planning and training services for this project that resulted in the formulation of the NPDP that will guide the country’s growth, development, and conservation.
The NPDP envisions Dominica to a horizon year of 2035 with lands identified for urbanization, agricultural production, environmental protection, as well as lands at risk from natural hazards. The plan includes specific project proposals aligned to the country’s long-term goals for socio-economic advancement, infrastructure needs, climate change risk management, and institutional strengthening. The work builds upon the Cabinet-approved National Land Use Policy of May 2015 that was prepared by Dillon.
