As Chair of Engineers Canada’s Sustainable Professional Committee, Sarah Devereaux will present at the 2nd annual STEMfest 2015 held in Saskatoon from September 27 through October 3. Sarah’s presentation, Strategy for a Sustainable Profession, will provide students with an approach that will help guide them into a career focused on sustainability. STEMfest is an international festival of science, technology, engineering and mathematics that brings together students and professionals from over 55 countries.
Sarah is a civil engineer and partner with experience in environmental and municipal projects. She has managed many large, multi-disciplined infrastructure projects on the East Coast and throughout Canada. In addition to project work, she is active in the engineering community as a past president of Engineers Nova Scotia (2012-13), and Consulting Engineers of Nova Scotia (2010-11), and she is a Fellow of Engineers Canada. She has been recognized with a number of other engineering excellence awards including the recent 2014 Engineers Canada Award for the support of women in the engineering profession and 2014 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner.
