The Province of Ontario recently passed legislation that requires municipalities to conduct Community Risk Assessments (CRA) to inform decisions about the provision of fire protection services.
In the Provincial guideline on completing a CRA provided to municipalities, Dillon is cited as informing this guideline through our work with the City of Mississauga.
While this project celebrated the collaboration of Dillon's risk management and fire and emergency services teams, Dillon’s Fire and Emergency Services team has been at the forefront of helping our municipal clients establish fire service levels based on risk for nearly a decade.
Our fire risk assessments paint a picture of a municipality's demographics, building stock, geography, hazards, and past fire loss which is then used to inform recommendations within a strategic Fire Master Plan.
