Kingsclear First Nation Receives Funding for Highway 102 Pedestrian Tunnel

Kingsclear First Nation recently received $1.6M in funding through the federal Gas Tax Fund in the 2019 Budget for the recently constructed Highway 102 Pedestrian Tunnel. Dillon is proud to have supported the efforts to secure this funding. Up until the official announcement last week, the community expected to pay for the pedestrian tunnel through their own revenue source by redirecting funds from other important community costs (e.g., housing, education, infrastructure).

On Friday, June 14th, Minister Seamus O'Regan joined the community on a tour through many projects that have occurred over the past ten years. Every one of the projects showcased on this tour was supported, designed and managed by the Dillon team. We are pleased that the community is able to show significant progress over the past ten years, as well as provide a number of concepts for other projects of importance to the current governance including school upgrades, cultural grounds and a community centre.
