The City of Ottawa was honoured with a 2018 Award of Merit in the Sustainable Mobility, Transportation and Infrastructure category for their Transportation Impact Assessment (TIA) Guidelines by the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP). The CIP awards recognize projects that “demonstrate innovation in planning, have a positive impact on the [planning] profession, have good implementation potential and stand out in quality of content and presentation.”
Dillon worked with the City to develop and update a TIA guidelines document for consultants and land development companies for the completion of transportation impact studies in support of development applications in Ottawa. The award recognizes the recent update, approved by Council in June 2017, which included integrated complete streets and multi-modal level of service concepts into the development planning process.
