The Town of Ajax has retained Dillon to develop a GIS-based Climate Change Risk Assessment Model. The Town has been impacted by a number of climatic events causing property damage, energy and transportation disruptions, injury and economic impacts to their community. The GIS model will be developed to help the Town better understand short-, medium- and long-term trends of three main climate stressors - severe weather, temperature and precipitation. The model will take a risk-based approach to create a standardized, systematic and transparent process for the Town; to identify, analyze, evaluate and ultimately manage climate change-based risks.
