Sarah Devereaux was appointed to Engineers Canada Board of Directors on May 31. The Board works with engineering regulators to advance the profession in the public interest. Engineers Canada is the national organization of the 12 engineering regulators that license Canada’s 280,000 members of the profession. As a board member, Sarah will be at the forefront of this policy setting body.
Sarah is a partner and civil engineer with experience in environmental and municipal projects. She has managed many large, multi-disciplined infrastructure projects on the East Coast and throughout Canada. In addition to project work, she is active in the engineering community as a past president of Engineers Nova Scotia (2012-13), and Consulting Engineers of Nova Scotia (2010-11), and she is a Fellow of Engineers Canada. She has been recognized with a number of other engineering excellence awards including the recent 2014 Engineers Canada Award for the support of women in the engineering profession and 2014 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner.
