Sarah Devereaux at CCWESTT Conference

Sarah Devereaux co-hosted a political panel at the Canadian Coalition of Women in Engineering, Science, Trades and Technology (CCWESTT) conference in Ottawa, ON. Sarah was joined by Members of Parliament Marilyn Gladu (Chair of the Standing Committee on Status of Women and Conservative Critic for Science) and Sheila Malcolmson (NDP Critic for Status of Women). The panel “Access to Leadership - Eliminating Barriers for Women” focused on progress that has been made for greater representation of women in engineering, technology and trades, as well as the federal government’s work to ensure progress continues. 

Sarah is a partner and civil engineer with experience in environmental and municipal projects. She has managed many large, multi-disciplined infrastructure projects on the East Coast and throughout Canada. In addition to project work, she is active in the engineering community as a past president of Engineers Nova Scotia (2012-13), and Consulting Engineers of Nova Scotia (2010-11), and she is a Fellow of Engineers Canada. She has been recognized with a number of other engineering excellence awards including the recent 2014 Engineers Canada Award for the support of women in the engineering profession and 2014 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner.
