Andrew Chan presented at the Saskatchewan Environmental Industry and Managers Association SustainTech 2016 conference in Saskatoon, SK. The conference promotes sustainability and environmental responsibility by sharing ideas on new developments and technologies that help us to make a better and more sustainable world. Andrew’s presentation “Tapping into Stormwater Re-use Potential and Turning a Waste into a Resource” focused on a tool developed by Dillon for the City of Calgary (City) that helps developments incorporate stormwater harvesting for irrigation of park and landscaped spaces. This tool and approach will help developers to achieve the City’s stormwater management volume requirements and will help to reduce demands on our potable water system, reduce pollutant loading to streams, and reduce degradation of creeks and streams to lead to a more sustainable environment.
Andrew is an associate and water resources engineer at Dillon with over 19 years of experience. His experience includes stormwater management and low impact development planning, design and construction, watershed studies, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, river engineering, and hydrometric and climate data monitoring for projects across Canada and internationally.
