Dillon has been recognized as one of North America’s Top 50 Trenchless Design Firms for our work in 2014. Trenchless technology is a type of subsurface construction work that requires few trenches or no continuous trenches which minimizes impacts to the surface. It is a rapidly growing sector of the construction industry. Dillon has worked on over 140 trenchless projects since 2007.
Our 25 person team located across the country worked on projects for both public and private sector clients in 2014 including a Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) project for the City of Winnipeg, a Cast In Place Pipe (CIPP) project for the City of London, Ontario, and Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) for the Region of Halton, Ontario. Two of our more recent projects that used trenchless techniques included Concession Street in Hamilton, ON, and the Boyne Trunk Sewer in Halton Region, ON.
Much of our design work with this technology involves the rehabilitation or replacement of storm sewers, sanitary sewers, watermains, gas mains and electrical ducts. Our team is highly versed at design using a wide variety of materials such as high-density polyethylene, steel casing, PVC plastic, fiberglass, and concrete depending on the needs of the project and client.
