Dillon Published in Canadian Property Valuation

Andrew Thalheimer and Darren Parker have been published in Canadian Property Valuation, Volume 59, Book 3. The article, “Managing Contamination for Productive Use, Development, and Divestiture of Real Property”, examines how contaminated sites can be managed to provide opportunities to increase revenue streams, end environmental monitoring, change property perceptions, while investing in the community can be realized.  The article describes how the assessment process typically employed in characterizing contaminated properties; risks to human health and the environment are evaluated, managed, and, if necessary, remediated.

Andrew Thalheimer HeadshotAndrew is an associate and project manager with over 26 years of experience in conducting and managing contaminated sites including phased environmental site investigations, remedial alternative evaluation, risk management, remediation design and engineering, and construction site supervision. He has served as project manager and senior technical specialist for countless phased environmental site assessments that have supported due diligence associated with property acquisition and divestiture and regulatory closure of contaminated sites.

Darren Parker HeadshotDarren is an associate and environmental planner with over 22 years of experience in multi-phased environmental site assessments, as well as hazardous materials assessment and management. He has extensive experience in property assessment, risk mitigation and management. He has managed and coordinated site assessments and building hazardous materials programs for various private sector industrial clients, municipalities, school boards, and hundreds of federal properties throughout the Atlantic provinces.
