Red Hill Business Park was completed for the City of Hamilton and is recognized for its demonstration of value and importance of engineering in the Hamilton/Halton communities. The successful completion of this project demonstrates how a transportation project with the potential for a negative impact on the environment, can result in an enhanced environment for aquatic and terrestrial habitat while still addressing community needs.
The Red Hill Business Park (RHBP) is an industrial and commercial business park in the east end of Hamilton. The RHBP is recently home of the new Maple Leaf central meat processing plant, as well as other developments including Canada Bread and Navistar. This facility required stormwater management, municipal servicing and road improvements to be in place by 2014.
This project was completed in several stages:
- A sanitary servicing strategy for the area
Dartnall Road extension and widening and the Hannon Creek realignment - recent winner of the 2014 Ontario Public Works Association Project of the Year Award in the Transportation ($2 - $10M) Category
Twenty Road reconstruction and widening
Glover Road reconstruction
Rymal Road and Glover Road intersection widening.
