Dillon Consulting has been featured in ESRI Canada's article titled “Working in Sync: Collaborating in the Field with Collector for GIS”. The article details our integrated use of the latest Collector for ArcGIS app while working to predict environmental effects of a proposed 430 km transmission line. The transmission line will parallel an existing transmission corridor connecting the Wawa and Lakehead transformer stations in Northern Ontario. Our field technicians were able to gather environmental data offline by pinpointing it directly on a map of the site and later upload the data when an internet connection could be established. This process allowed us to optimize our process for data collection workflows and efficiencies and make the data integration seamless with our GIS enterprise.
