Transportation /Civil Engineering Technologist

Location: Toronto


• Assistance to project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design (CADD design) of municipal and regional roads and transit facilities, long-range transportation systems master plans, area modeling studies, traffic operation studies, land development applications, and transportation policy development assignments

• Collaboration with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, scientists, and technical and administrative support staff

• Contribution to business development activities including client need research, preparation of project proposals and presentations

• Business travel upon request


• A diploma in civil engineering technology

• Eligible for registration as a Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) or Certified Technician (CTech) in the province of Ontario

• One to two years’ work experience in engineering for municipalities and/or the land development industry will be considered an asset


• Familiarity with the preliminary and detailed design of roadway, interchange, bridge and culvert infrastructure projects

• Knowledge of the functional and detailed design of integrated municipal infrastructure including roads, sewers, water mains and drainage works

• Understanding of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administration

• Proficient in the use of current AutoCAD software

• Working knowledge of Civil 3D/Land Desktop and Microstation/InRoads software will be considered an asset

• Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirements

• Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills, including the ability work in a team environment
