Environmental Engineer/ Geoscientist

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Environmental Engineer/ Geoscientist in our Ottawa office.

Responsibilities

  • Development of project proposals, client relationships and new business opportunities
  • Management of environmental projects including site assessment and remediation, risk assessment and management, and regulatory compliance monitoring
  • Provision of technical and professional leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams including engineers, scientists, and technologists
  • Liaison with public and private sector clients, government review and approval agencies, subconsultants, and subcontractors
  • Input to the career development of more junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
  • Contributions to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
  • Development, implementation, and adherence to appropriate corporate and site-specific health and safety plans and procedures
  • Business travel upon request

Qualifications

  • A degree in civil or environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology or environmental science, preferably at the Masters level
  • Licensed to practice as a professional engineer or geoscientist in the province of Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within 6 months
  • A minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal motor vehicle

Experience

  • Proficient in the completion of:
  • groundwater resource evaluation, protection and management
  • phased site assessments
  • human health and/or ecological risk assessment
  • remedial action plan development
  • design and implementation of compliance monitoring plans
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, codes and standards
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing environmental projects
  • Strong report writing, communications, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining excellent client relationships
